If you are an Internet marketer and you have yet to make your first sale, let me give you a few proven Internet marketing strategies that work, and a few that don’t. I can attest that if you have a proper system in place along with the right mindset for marketing, you can and will make money in your niche. Without those two items, all is but lost. Starting out in Internet marketing can be very scary at first and this is a natural reaction to anything new.

What you will need to have in place are three things to get your niche off of the ground, that is, providing you have done your research and the niche you chose does have a hungry crowd to feed. Start off by getting a squeeze page put together and giving away something of value for free, such as an e-book or guide. You will need a domain name, a web host and an auto responder. These three things are a must in today’s society of Internet marketing. Once you have these the rest is easy. Most marketers will tell you the money is in the list.

When sending out your auto-responder e-mails write them with personality and let the people know that you are there to help them, not take advantage of them, and let them know you are a real person. Build a trusting relationship with them first. Once you have this trust they will buy from you again and again.

Write articles to drive the traffic to the site. Now I’m not talking an article here or there, but at least two per day on your niche topic. The more exposure you have the better your chances of a sale. Think of it this way, you could write an article on your niche one way using a good title with keyword rich body content and use the same niche to write the article another way using a different title and different keywords. You are still talking about the same thing but when people do searches, they don’t necessarily search for the same keywords to get what they are looking for so write lots of articles about your niche and become a temporary expert in your field of knowledge and share this knowledge with them.

Be nice and considerate when conducting your business whether it is through direct contact with the customer or through e-mail marketing or article writing, nice goes a long way. When you think about the proven Internet marketing strategies that work-and some that don’t, nice as opposed to being pushy will always come in first.

Now let’s think about a strategy that won’t work so well. E-mailing the people on your list two or three times per day. This will get old real fast in their eyes and as enthusiastic as you are about making a sale, being pushy with too many email will surely get your subscribers to un-subscribe. People like to have information and value with what they are searching for. As with any campaign, give them just enough info to wet their whistle so they will make a purchase but never ever try to shove a sale at them with every email you send out. This will get them to think you are only out for yourself and not to help them.

Another that doesn’t work well is to throw a bunch of keywords together in a PPC campaign and think you are going to make a sale without doing your research or have any skill in pay-per-click advertising. This is a big mistake and can cost you quite a lot of money if you aren’t careful. Learn all you can about your niche, be kind and considerate, use the strategy that suits your niche the best and stay in front of that hungry crowd.
